About Steven Smith (Me)
A good friend of mine graciously used his wordsmith skills to create the following “bio”:

Steven studied music composition at Brigham Young University and has been the chief copyist for Mack Wilberg and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir (and the Orchestra at Temple Square) for more than 15 years. His arrangements and compositions have been performed by choral groups, chamber ensembles and symphony orchestras throughout the U.S. and internationally.

Throughout his career he has worked with many professional music organizations including Oxford University Press and Telarc Records. The continuing opportunity to compose and arrange within the church has led to a significant library of music now freely available to ward and stake choirs.

When not busy arranging for choirs, Steven (and talented wife, Jayme) create and produce annual Stories in Concert™ – classic literary works brought to life with orchestra, choir and pantomime to support the theatrical narration. With its clever adaptations, film-like musical scores, and witty interpretations, Stories in Concert is fast becoming a family tradition for many patrons.

Steven’s Hymns for Choirs™ series includes hymn arrangements for the ward choir (and stake choir) selected from HYMNS (the official hymnal of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).

@Mitzi: sadly, no se hablo. However, there are some out there who have done their own translations of my arrangements (as well as others). I’m sure if you search/ask about Spanish hymn arrangements in other forums, you’ll find something. Good luck!

@Jim: thank you for letting me know. It should be fixed now!

Wondering if you have arrangements for Spanish Choir? My son is serving a mission in Honduras and they are looking for music for a special fireside. Come Thou Fount, The Spirit of God etc..

    Thanks,
    Mitzi

The ‘Music Library’ page is not working, appears to be a bad link to it. Just throws a ’404 not found’ error.

@dsquire: Thanks so much for using these arrangements. I hope you enjoy them! I don’t normally share the original Finale files (too hard to keep control of it once it gets out). Each of these pieces does have an mp3 that you can download and distribute for free, though. Perhaps that will work for your choir?

@jfdalby: I don’t have anything like that currently. You might try searching on FreeLDSSheetMusic.org; they have a pretty extensive index. Good luck!

@roger: I don’t know of any way to get Mack’s music for free. But he is one of the most published composers by Oxford University Press so the arrangements are often easy to find and reasonably priced (usually less than $2 per copy, sometimes even less than $1). I recommend checking with Best in Music (several locations in Utah and online at http://bestinmusiconline.com/). The owner sings in the choir and often has a breadth of Wilberg arrangements on hand.

I am preparing for our stake conference and will be using Beautiful Savior and There is Sunshine in My Soul Today for the choir. I want to produce a rehearsal CD or mp3 tracks for the choir members to practice with at home. I normally would scan them into Finale and then make corrections to get the end product but if you would be willing to share the file of both of these I would then just create the rehearsal tracks. I really appreciate your fantastic work and your willingness to share them.

Are you aware of any easy arrangements for Young Men’s choirs–something with a missionary theme? We’re having a YM fireside, and I’ve been asked to lead all the Priests in the Stake in a special number to “inspire the younger YM” to stay true and prepare for a mission.

Does Mack Wilberg have any free arrangements anywhere?
