About Steven Smith (Me)
A good friend of mine graciously used his wordsmith skills to create the following “bio”:
Steven studied music composition at Brigham Young University and has been the chief copyist for Mack Wilberg and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir (and the Orchestra at Temple Square) for more than 10 years. His arrangements and compositions have been performed by choral groups, chamber ensembles and symphony orchestras throughout the U.S. and internationally.
Throughout his career he has worked with many professional music organizations including Oxford University Press and Telarc Records. The continuing opportunity to compose and arrange within the church has led to a significant library of music now freely available to ward and stake choirs.
When not busy arranging for choirs, Steven (and talented wife, Jayme) create and produce annual Stories in Concert™ – classic literary works brought to life with orchestra, choir and pantomime to support the theatrical narration. With its clever adaptations, film-like musical scores, and witty interpretations, Stories in Concert is fast becoming a family tradition for many patrons.
