We just performed this as a ward choir yesterday — it was nice to have something simple (for the singers anyway) before starting to dig in for holiday music. Lot’s of compliments.
There are a couple of minor typos: “wid-der fields” instead of “wid-er fields” and the title at the top of the pages says “follwow”.
Thanks so much for sharing!
@Eric: Thanks for pointing that out, Eric. All fixed!
Hi Steve –
I’m getting a 404 when trying to download either Come-Follow-Me-Violin-Flute-SCORE.pdf or Come-Follow-Me-Violin-Flute-PART.pdf. The other files seem fine. Is there something wrong with those links? Thanks.
Thanks Malie! I’m so glad this worked out for you. I really appreciate your comments and feedback. Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much for this arrangement! I found this a month before our primary program and was able to use it. I’d wished I had had more time with it, and would have been able to teach the older kids the descant. We did though have the ward join us for the last verse and it turned out beautifully. This is now my 10 y.o. favorite song. Thank you for sharing this with all of us.
@Vera: that’s a great story! Thanks so much for taking time to share your thoughts and comments. I’m so glad that the arrangement contributed to your Primary Program. I got to “pinch hit” as primary pianist last week and was reminded how very strong the spirit is whenever primary children sing. I don’t think it gets much better than that! Thank YOU for working with primary music; it’s not an easy calling but the rewards sure are great (and it wouldn’t happen without great leaders)!
Just wanted to say thank you for sharing this arrangement. We had our primary program yesterday and concluded with this version of Come Follow Me. We had one of the primary teachers sing the descant on the 6th verse and the congregation joined on 5 and 6. We did not add the violin (although that would have been beautiful). Several people commented on the beautiful arrangement and the spirit was so very strong during this song. I am not usually a crier, but there were so many with tears that I was really fighting back the tears and trying to sing so the congregation would be able to know their part. Then we finished with the primary singing “Obey His Words, Come Follow Me.” Perfect Ending!!
It was beautiful – thank you again for sharing your talents.
@Tania: Thank you! I am so glad that you find the arrangement uplifting and useful. Good luck with your program!
thank you! thank you! thanks you! we will definately used this version on our primary sacrement programm..very uplifting for the kids n adults! love it!
You are very welcome! I hope this helps bring the Spirit to your program. Thanks!
Steve,
Thank you for the beautiful arrangement.I do love it
I’m a primary music director and we are going to sing this arrangement during the primary presentation on sacrament meeting.
You have such a beautiful talent.
KEITHY
Thanks, Heidi! (You are very welcome.) I think this would sound great with the flute as well (thank goodness for band nerds!). New “VIOLIN or FLUTE” part (in C) at the top of the post. I hope it helps with the spirit of your meeting. Let me know how it turns out!
Steve, I am SO excited to have found this arrangement. THANK YOU for sharing your talents!
I’m using the “C” version to go easy on my pianist. I’ve been looking for a chance to play my flute (another C instrument) with my kids and was wondering if you could post the violin part in that key too!
I won’t have a problem with the key changes, we band nerds are more used to the “flats” than the “sharps”. It would save me a couple of of transcribing if you have it on hand.
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful arrangement that will be perfect for this year’s Primary Program.
Aw, shucks! Thanks, Brenda. I really enjoyed putting it together – and I’m glad you approve!
PRETTY, Steve!
Hi Brenda,
I’m sorry this is giving you trouble, but I’m not sure what the problem could be. I know for certain that a few others have been able to download them and the links seem to work for me at the moment. If you are still having trouble, let me know and I can email them to you (let me know if you want the mp3 files, too, they are big but still “email-able”). Thanks!
(PS – Thanks for performing these pieces, too. I’m glad you find them useful!)
I’m having trouble downloading any of these .pdf files. It downloads to 1.28 KB and then stops – all of them. Is there a probelm with the site or is it a personal problem? Thanks for the great work that you do! Your pieces are a favorite of mine and I love to perform them whenever we get the chance.
