Stake Conference Feb 2009

I’ve been asked to arrange two hymns for our upcoming Stake Conference.  Since I get to choose, I thought I’d ask for subscribers to nominate and vote for their favorites.  The only requirement is that they must be from HYMNS (the LDS Hymnal, 1985).  If there are any requests…

  1. Hi Julio,

Thanks for the compliments and I’d be happy to arrange for your stake. When do you need this by? I am a little busy the next couple of weeks, but if you can wait until June 1 or so, I think I could do it. Please let me know. Thanks!

Hi my name is Julio and i am a pianist for my ward and stake. I´m from Brazil and I live in São Paulo city and i loved all sheet music that you put here for
the musicans .Perhaps you could arrange the hymn ” I´ll Go where you want
me to Go” nº 270, with arrange for our conference stake. Would be great!
It´s possible to have this hymn for us? I saw this in the General Conference
the BYU man´s chorus sung it. It was amzing! Thanks..your site it´s great
    Bye bye..a brazilian friend.

  3. Sorry it took me so long to respond, Lauren. I don’t have my own arrangement for this and I’m not familiar with another specific arrangement that I could recommend. I’ve had several people ask about for Secret Prayer so I will try to get to this in the near future (though I don’t know if it will be in time for your needs). When did you need this by?

Hi, I am looking for an arrangement of “There Is An Hour of Peace and Rest”
    Any suggestions?

  5. Thanks for the suggestions! These were on my short list, but I finally decided on Press Forward Saints (for organ, three-hands and choir – but the third hand plays and easy melody on the upper manuals).

I will definitely consider these other tunes for the future. Also, I’ll try to make the arrangements easier (only one painist in the whole stake? that’s tough!). For the second hymn I chose Love at Home (only one pianist, flute and choir). I’ll post these as quick as I can. Thanks again for the suggestions.

And one more thing, i hope you would arrange this hymn for two hands only. You see, in our stake, there is only one person who could play the piano. i would love to have your arrangement sung for our stake conference, but the only problem is, most of your arrangements requires two pianist :-(

    Hi,

I think “Faith of Our Fathers” (hymn no. 84) would be a perfect choral hymn for the conference. The melody is beautiful and splendid to hear; the message that it wants to impart is sweet and inspiring. Perhaps you could arrange this for your stake choir, with the piano as the only accompaniment. This would surely maintain the sacred atmosphere of the conference. I would love to recommend this hymn for our stake conference too on April.

    Dave

  8. Becca Bowler

I would love to see a good version of O My Father done with voice flute and piano.

  9. Pam Birch

God of Our Fathers, Whose Almighty Hand #78

  10. Mary Webb

Oh Thou Kind and Gracious Father
